Welcome,

This website has been created, with the sole purpose of seeing all Sinhala historic / religious sites of Sri Lanka, be it Vihara or Devala, restored and preserved for this generation and countless future ones to come. Though our main target is the safeguarding of heritage in the North & Eastern areas of Lanka, this site is to make you aware of the tragic situation of many others all over this country.

Our hope is to have on this site, information regarding what is happening currently to these historic / religious sites plus to educate people about the sites themselves and their importance to this country and to the world's cultural heritage.

Sri Lanka has been witness to three decades of separatists terrorism by Tamil militants, and with this came the destruction of thousands of Sinhalese Buddhist monuments primarily in the North & East, in an effort to cleanse these two provinces of its Sinhala Heritage.

With the elimination of the last remnants of terrorism in our country, it is time to start thinking of what we as civilians can do to help. One way is to help safeguard the Sinhala Heritage still left in North & East, also restore the sinhala civilization in these two provinces.

The Buddhist Heritage of Eastern Province

Both the North and the East have seen a racist agenda perpetrated by Tamil extremists bent on wiping the historical evidence of the Sinhala people from the said areas to forward their bogus claims of a Tamil homeland. In addition, in the East, we are witnessing a Islamic Jihad movement that has already destroyed over 200 Buddhist cave temples. These cave temples have either been made into mosques or simply destroyed!!

Unlike the destruction done by the terrorists in the North, what is happening in the East is more serious due to lack of media coverage and attention received.

Restoration of the ancient reservoirs ("Wapi"s or "Wev") and the villages that have been destroyed by the western colonial elements and the Tamil terrorists in an attempt to raze the Sinhala Civilization from these two provinces will also be addressed through this group.
