Anuradhapura Chronology: The basal level at Anuradhapura comprises a gravel with Mesolithic stone tools. It is dated to c. 3900 cal BC. This is succeeded, after a long hiatus, by the Iron Age commencing during the 10th-9th centuries BC.
In other words Anuradhapura is around 6000yrs old!!
